BASF Corporate Cup – despite capricious weather Tebodin Peters Engineering employees had a successful run

Tebodin Peters Engineering (TPE) participated in the BASF Corporate Cup with 15 employees representing the parent group Bilfinger SE. About 200 Bilfinger employees stood at the starting line of the Corporate Cup 2016 which took place on 8 June 2016 at the Hockenheimring. While the 36 inline skaters made it over the finish line dry, the runners had to struggle against a storm and heavy rain.

Just in time for the start, the weather put a wrench in the works for the more than 16,000 participants in the 14th Corporate Cup. “All participants to the pit lane,” was called over the loud speakers. However, rather than starting on the 4.8 kilometer course, the runners first went took shelter from the rain. “That’s a good thing,” said Michael Kurda, who organized the event with his General Services colleagues and was particularly concerned about the safety of the athletes: “Everyone has to make it safely across the finish line, so that we can all celebrate the evening together with a beer in the Bilfinger tent.”

For our colleague Claudia Sendrowski (TPE) “This is my fourth time taking part and I enjoy having fun with colleagues. That’s what I like about the Corporate Cup,” she explains. Once again, Bilfinger employees from various locations came together to tackle the Formula 1 course as runners, walkers or inline skaters.

After the thunderstorm had passed, the run could be started. They were soaking wet but glad to cross the finish line. The day was completed by a cozy get-together afterwards.
