Contractor Award confirms successful development work

“For the safe, high quality work and work with business foresight as well as good cooperation”, Tebodin Peters Engineering has been given the Contractor Award 2016 by BASF Schwarzheide for engineering.

The engineering specialists, based in Ludwigshafen, have been working for the leading global chemical company for over 20 years. The company has established a technical office at the Lausitz production location in 2012 with today 18 employees permanently on site. “The Contractor Award 2016 is high praise for us. It confirms the successful development work that we have done for BASF Schwarzheide”, says Bernd Bodeit, Speaker of the Executive Management of Tebodin Peters Engineering.

BASF Schwarzheide is a 100 percent subsidiary of BASF. Plastics, water-based paints, pesticides and fine chemicals are produced at the location in Southern Brandenburg. Around 1,600 employees work at BASF Schwarzheide, or 2,500 employees if outside companies are included. The services that Tebodin Peters Engineering provides for BASF Schwarzheide include operational management, 3D plant and piping design, recurring inspections, machine and apparatus engineering as well as structural engineering. All key aspects of plant design and production-related plant modifications are thereby covered. For the Contractor Awards, the services of suppliers are evaluated by a number of BASF employees according to pre-determined parameters. This includes, for example, occupational safety, adherence to time and budget as well as further qualitative and quantitative criteria. 

In 2012/3 the company also took over the detailed planning of the pipeline construction for a new plant at the Schwarzheide location. At over €100 million, it represents the chemical company’s largest single investment at the location to date. Because the complex piping systems transport numerous products as well as coolants and heating media, the experts from Tebodin Peters Engineering were already requested during the design phase. Around 50 employees, even more at peak times, worked on this project, with which the customer was highly satisfied. A complete virtual illustration of the plant was created, allowing the BASF planning units and the operator to check and coordinate all of the details.
